About Us

Alasdair Brown has been in the seriously joyful business of creating ‘damn good’ Parties, Events and Installations since 1999. With bases in both Sussex and Central London, and over two decades of experience, we don’t profess to know it all, or even too much – but we have seen, experienced, laughed and cried (with our clients, of course) and learned a lot along the way. Nothing gives us more joy than to share our wealth of experience to the benefit of our clients.

You might expect we have sleeves stuffed with well organised tricks, and we enjoy every opportunity to work magic with our clients – taking the time to understand what magic means to you.

We asked our clients to share their top reasons why they enjoy working with us and here is what our survey said:

A Designer’s Eye
Whether it’s a new way of lighting a room, an idea for making an event just that much more special or designing something unique for your house or garden, Alasdair can be relied upon for creative ideas that make you think – ‘Wow, why didn’t I think of that?’

Attention to Detail
The famous spreadsheets and lists! From conception to delivery, there is none quite like Alasdair for making sure that every last and seemingly small detail is covered, and that everyone involved knows what they are doing and when and how they are doing it. Alasdair takes care of as little or as much as you want so you can enjoy your party or event, fully.

Making it Fun
There is a reason why Alasdair's favourite quote is ‘A little party never hurt anybody’ – because he loves parties and he puts his heart into every single one. This spirit has become company’s ethos, too – the whole team is absolutely committed to making your event or design process as fun and enjoyable as possible. As it should be!

Discretion
It should go without saying, but discretion and confidentiality is as tantamount to our work as the fun, magic and creativity is.

It’s Not our Party, it’s Yours

There is nothing copy and paste about our approach. Ever.

Getting to know you and your vision is key. We don’t want to say too much about our process here, but we might suggest, just hypothetically speaking, a casual meal at your favourite restaurant, a flip through your vinyl collection or Spotify playlist, or, heaven forbid, we might go for a wine tasting together. . .

Five Steps to a Damn Good Party

Step 1 Get in touch and tell us what you have in mind. We’ll ask the questions to make sure all key factors and considerations are captured from the off.

Step 2 Site visit – nothing beats an in-person rekkie, but we’re well versed in virtual rekkies (wink, wink, international clients).

Step 3 ‘Get to know you better’ session *this includes learning about what you don’t like as much as what you do.

Step 4 – Lists, Spreadsheets, Budgets. Yes, we will even make this bit fun.

Step 5 – Have yourself a Damn Good Party/Event/Launch.

(and two more, for the road . . . )

Step 6 – Memories – another trick we keep in our sleeves, but a crucial one. Rest assured that ‘we’ve got you’ on this.

Step 7 – Write us a damn good testimonial*
*please note this is entirely optional.
